Party in Brisbane with Al Duvall, Singing Sadie, Dick Desert and the Shotgun Country Music Club, Ambitious Lovers, Tyrone Shoelaces, Kittyoke.

Born June 31, 1877 in Pahrump, West Virginia, Algernon Otmer Duvall began his musical career on the vaudeville stage as end-man in Lew Dockstader's Minstrels. He fought in a bicycle squadron in Ypres during World War I, where he received a crippling dose of the Hun's mustard. Returning home, he made ends meet working at a sausage factory in Harrington Delaware from 1921 until 1989. He took up the banjo in 1991 as physical therapy for his pleurisy. He went on to master the alto kazoo at the age of 118. "Al" Duvall attributes his remarkable longevity to a daily dram of Hamlin's Quinsy Balsam.ty to a daily dram of Hamlin's Quinsy Balsam.

For this his first touring visit to Austrlia as a civilian (was stationed in the dirty half mile during world war two) he is being joined by our own all singing all dancing queen of the burgeoning underground show tunes scene Singing Sadie. Animal Collective, The Lost Domain, Anonymeye @ The Zoo - 3 November 2006

Performance in Brisbane with Animal Collective, The Lost Domain, Anonymeye.

New York based noise-pop group Animal Collective announce their much anticipated debut Australian tour for November.

Members Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Geologist and Deaken are four childhood friends who like to get together to watch movies and kick around a soccer ball. They are also responsible for making some of the most ambitious and forward-thinking music to date. From beautifully skewed pop ballads to fiercely ruptured noise-squalls to tribal rhythmic work-outs to simple folk songs, to who knows where, their songs waver on the tightrope between deeply affecting beauty and unrestrained chaos.

May 2004 saw the release of their twisted yet masterly pop album, 'Sung Tongs' - which drew widespread critical acclaim, making end of year top 10's including The New York Times, Mojo, The Wire, Pitchfork. This popular and critical support was advanced with the band's October 2005 album, 'Feels' , again receiving widespread acclaim across the board.
