1/4_inch is an exciting and evocative performance evening catering to sound
and visual artists embracing emerging and current technologies.

Running successfully in Sydney for over two and a half years 1/4_inch was
extended to Wollongong for bi-monthly events by Aaron Hull, co-curator of
the Sydney event and local resident, who recognised the lack of new media
arts initiatives in the Illawarra.

1/4_inch will showcase local, Sydney, interstate and international artists
who are either emerging or established over the next 12 months in Wollongong
and will link with national new media arts festivals for larger shows in
early 2006.

On Thursday the 26th of May from 7:30pm, 1Z4_inch will premiere its first show
with the live works of Brisbane sound artist Scott Sinclair. Other artists
will include UOW staff members Professor Julian Knowles and Greg Schiemer,
Ben Byrne Sydney, and live audio visual out fit P.A. from the Blue
Mountains.
