So me and a few of my mates listen to a lot of breakcore, grindcore, gabber, and generally fast and distorted music that we don't ever get to hear in Brisbane. I don't know, it seems like our town just isn't hardcore enough. It's not like there is something like system corrupt (syd) or black lotus (melb) here, or even people making breakcore here. I mean, there are those Rudebwoyz shows (but they will never play a cutup amen break) and the Revival DJs (sorry guys, too many uplifting synth lines and not enough bloody fist) who probably like that music too, but it's not on the dance floor? why? Maybe they feel that they need to OWN their records?! Or make concessions because 'core' music is too fucked up. Well who gives a fuck, really. Fuck skills, bring the sound of drills. Do you think a band like Nunwhore Commando 666 is even going to get distribution in Australia?! Bullshit. Let me tell a small story - I was at a club in Auckland and some people at the back of the club couldn't see the band in the packed room so they stand on some stools. And here I am thinking "someone is bound to tell them off or kick them out - standing on stools in a public liability obsessed world? no way". But they didn't have to move. The bouncers didn't care, because it was obviously ok and they were enjoying the music. it was just the police state bullshit that we put up with in brisbane that put that thought into my head. Now last week at the Baconfat party at the Shamrock a bouncer told me that "if that girl over there stands on that stool again, tell her to stop", so of course i said "what for?", and he was "isn't is obvious?" and i was "it's obvious she's having fun". so the point here is CLAIM BACK YOUR FUN. after all, you fucking paid for it. i am fucking sick of the hardest and fastest music being saved for a closing dj set, only for the venue to shut down on a full and waiting dance floor (this happened twice to dj robot annihilator at his only 2 gigs for 2005!). so *start* with the hard music, and then keep going! the shamrock people are mostly pretty friendly and they can stay open to 5am - so get out there and make them stay open.

about the music...
company fuck is my new speedcore metal project (bastard child of nihil fist, napalm death, dj scud, destinys child). Manimanima is jeff henderson from wellington - he plays really nauseating songs on banjo. Potato Master plays awesome mixed up music - raga jungle, j-pop gabber, disco, computer game funk, etc. Pechnatunk is new electronic metal from victor brain resin. DJ Monkeycunt and DJ Diarrhoea Cannon will be bringing everything corecore... hey isn't venetian snares some fucking superstar? why can't i at least hear that really fucking loud in brisbane?! oh yeah. hiphop is ok too.
