Exhibition in Brisbane (Australia) with Ross Manning.

Ross Manning (who may be better known to some of you as 4 layers of 9) will be in Brisbane this coming weekend, performing, and also exhibiting some of his sound sculputres at the White House gallery.  Desribed on the flyers circulating around town presently as being "held together by blu tac coz he's too wasted to use glue", these lo fi kinetic beasts will be first introduced to the public at their debutant ball, on friday 21st of april from 6-9pm.  If you prefer to go to art galleries rather than art openings, you'll get your chance on saturday & sunday of the same weekend, (22-23rd april, 11am - 6pm).  Ross will also be performing alongside Hrvatski at the Shamrock hotel on the evening of the 22nd. Details for that here: http://www.halftheory.com/index.php?go=calendar&id=78
see Ross' homepage here: http://www.halftheory.com/meatwave/
the White House reckons this about Ross' exhibition: "Brisbong expatriat Ross F. Manning turns his chaotic visions and anti-physics theories into teetering, fragile reality at the White House. Ross's manically kinetic sound sculptures defy theories of functionality, safety and cohesion. Multi-armed modified turntables, vaccum cleaner powered tube flutes and circuit bent toys combine to create a cacophony of absurdity, texture and frightening wonderment, combining sound, power, movement and light in the most ruptured of ways." It's at 358 George st, Brisbane city.  If you've never been there before, the entrance to the White House is the corrugated iron door between the Dendy cinema and the military bookshop.  So now you know.  Visit the White House on line here: http://whitehousespace.net/index.php?news
