Ellitt continued to compose on his tape machine until late in life

Jack Ellitt - The Sound Pioneer Australia Never Knew It Had

##Artefacts Communique 1##

Artefacts of Australian Experimental Music: 1930 – 1973 is a landmark compilation CD documenting the forgotten pioneers of Australian music. For full details, track listing and audio samples, go to http://ShameFileMusic.com

Jack Ellitt is virtually unknown in the annals of Australian experimental music, yet his work in sound composition as early as 1930 was cutting edge on an international scale.

As a teenager, Ellitt met New  Zealander Len Lye (who later became an important avant garde filmmaker and sculptor) in Sydney in the 1910s, and later followed him to London in 1928. The two antipodeans worked together in experimental film during the 1930s, with Ellitt often composing the live soundtracks to accompany films.

Ellitt saw film sound technology as an opportunity to reinvent music through the use of the entire... Read more

moths dissolving

You don't deserve free music this good.

Three astonishing albums by Melbourne's Snawklor can be downloaded through their website.
I'm going to resist going on about how magnificent Snawklor are here, and hiw they're one of the best experimental music acts Australia has ever produce, and that they were possibly the best live act we ever had perform at Small Black Box in several years.  So suffice it to say, that in my humble, considered opinion, "They Live/ Moths Dissolving" is simply one of the finest albums ever recorded. Be sure to thank Snawklor profusely for this generous bounty. That is all.

hey baby, would you like to come back to my place & watch clips of jamie hume on youtube whilst i make jokes which are inner than your belly button & squeeze your prostheses?

So Jamie finally gets exposed to the rest of the world, courtesy of the recently posted footage of the "Noise Idol" segment from ministry of truth tv.  This will no doubt make a thing appear like a tenuously related other thing.  Funny stuff, this.

Answers Come In Dreams

In Dreams I Walk With You

I'm working on an audio-visual project focusing on dreams and am looking  for participants who are willing to submit a memorable dream for possible inclusion in the project.
My aim is to take the dreams and create visual and aural references to key words used to describe the dream.
The goal is to have material finished for a performance as part of the Liquid Architecture festival, late June in Sydney, an Audiopollen special and a future DVD release.
All participants will receive two copies of the final product (regardless of whether your contribution is used) and will be credited (unless they wish to remain anonymous.)

Feel free to submit any dream memorable to you; be it nightmarish or banal.

If you feel you can assist, please email luther_blissett_99@yahoo.com with your dream description OR a notice of intention to participate.  Given the fairly limited time span it would be best if you could respond by the 8th of June.
