one of only two images which is found by google image search for flew creeking. the other has the words "flew creeking" on it

final notice, little man!

just a little prod to get you to come along to listen up little man! 4 at mormon gibbon in wollongabba tomorrow (sunday 25th june).  as noted previously, this show features the return to action of flew creeking after a fairly prolonged leave of abscence. so, what can you expect? a tragic, bloated endeavour akin to bands who return after many years to ride on the coattails of a couple of classic fm radio staples? astonishing spontaneous sonic pyrotechnics? brutalist noise? desperate pleading with malfunctioning gear? expect whatever the fuck you like, we promise not to bring it. flew creeking will be performing alongside hetlevieker for the first time, other artists performing as well include mshing & emisis & a first time meeting of adam park, patrick king & marek riglewski. full details of the gig here http://www.halftheory.com/index.php?go=calendar&id=103 to induce you a little further, have a... Family Twig

Hello everybody.......
great news, community radio stations all over the country, and their listeners, will be bopping, throbbing, nodding out, and shaking their heads dissaprovingly to the sounds and comments of Brisbane's noisy, brattish, avant-garde scene, notably Jamie Hume, Lloyd Barrett, Joe Musgrove, Joel Stern and Alan Nguyen. Yes all these free thinking, free playing, free associating folks are all featured in the new radio documentary 'Family Twig' created for AMRAP (Australian Music Radio Airplay Project) by family member, radio guru, veteren noisenick, gourmet vege chef etc etc.. Rin Healy. The radiophonic extravaganza goes for  15 minutes and features music by Diaspora, Biffplex, No Guru,... Read more

things to do, see, make & think part 23

you will be doing some, none, or all of the following things if in brisbane this weekend.

on friday the 16th of june you will be going to celebrate the first anniversary of the whitehouse.  you will dress in appropriate costume, to celebrate both the fact that the whitehouse is one, and the fact that it is the whitehouse.  all those who come in costume of george w bush, dick cheney, karl rove or various/ nondescript american political attaches will be forced to fight to the death for the amusement of those brave souls who come wearing only nappies.  those who come clad in 'normal' attire will dance to the music selections of dj's jichael mackson & lovehandles, or alternatively, snatch their last chance to take in the sights of the current exhibition, of japanese street art. you should also rememer the whitehouse sells objet d'art to only the most discerning of customers during the day on fridays 11am - 6pm. the whitehouse is entered physically by the... RIP György Ligeti (1923-2006)

In honor of the great Hungarian composer we played two of his most important pieces...

1. Gyorgy Ligeti - Lux Aeterna (1966)
2. Gyorgy Ligeti - Requiem (1963-65)

Both these pieces reached a mass audience when excerpts were used on the soundtrack recording of the Stanley Kubrick film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

and

Long Live The Lost Domain (1989ish - ongoing)

In honor of the great Brisbane free-wheeling psych-improvisation ensemble we played two of their most important pieces...

i remember this book from when i was a kid. but what exactly does it have to do with nurse with wound????

doorbuster frenzy begins now!!! ( & prizes to be had!!)

there's been a veritable shitload of items arriving in the half/theory shop recently, so i thought it might be high time to do a quick round up and say a few words about items added recently... and a competition... right after these messages....

firstly, we welcome one of nz's choicest cdr imprints, CLaudia, to the half/theory party.  they said a quick hello earlier, so we say hi back, and say a few kind words about them; to wit: while i haven't heard all CLaudia items currently in the catalogue, i've heard a few, and they're all of the highest quality.  We can particularly recommend to those who like quiet, subtle drone musics the utterly gorgeous (in a quiet, subtle way) tim coster & mark sadgrove cd.  enthusiasts of pointing microphones at stuff will greatly enjoy "the witching hour" collections of field recordings of night time, with particularly fine contributions from un ciego, tim coster,... india bharti performing at undetermined location

(insert witty vaguely pun based title here)

a firm but friendly notice about entertainments soon to be available to discerning citizens of the world, or at least the brisbane part of it.

due to certain brainfart style errors, it appears we have have told you previously stephen vitiello is performing at the judith wright center on thursday.  woops.  FRIDAY. Anyway, this is good news for all concerned, because it means that I'll probably be able to make it, and it'll give you an extra day to digest the recordings of vitiello you can get for free courtesy of ubuweb.  What a nice chap. http://www.ubu.com/sound/vitiello.html usual room 40 bat-time, not sure about supports.  Also your 1st chance to get yourself a copy of lloyd barrett's new cd "mise en scene".  Lloyd says he'll be giving out bonus dvd's to those of you who buy it between now & the official launch, in early july.  Which is when he intends the dvd's to be done, so...
