final notice, little man!

just a little prod to get you to come along to listen up little man! 4 at mormon gibbon in wollongabba tomorrow (sunday 25th june).  as noted previously, this show features the return to action of flew creeking after a fairly prolonged leave of abscence. so, what can you expect? a tragic, bloated endeavour akin to bands who return after many years to ride on the coattails of a couple of classic fm radio staples? astonishing spontaneous sonic pyrotechnics? brutalist noise? desperate pleading with malfunctioning gear? expect whatever the fuck you like, we promise not to bring it. flew creeking will be performing alongside hetlevieker for the first time, other artists performing as well include mshing & emisis & a first time meeting of adam park, patrick king & marek riglewski. full details of the gig here http://www.halftheory.com/index.php?go=calendar&id=103 to induce you a little further, have a little gift from flew creeking. these 2 mp3's serve as a virtual 7", if you like... and were recorded at my humle abode recently.  it seems you can also find an extract of one of flew creekings most notorious performances, from early 2001 - at the first small black box, in fact, via mp3.com.au here http://www.mp3.com.au/track.asp?id=19523#

while you're looking for things to do in the next wee while, have a little look at this option here http://www.halftheory.com/index.php?go=calendar&id=84 only aus solo shows by wolf eyes members apparently, happening at our very own whitehouse. pretty tasty, no doubt...well, we'll see about that i guess.  i personally fail to see the big deal with the whole wolf eyes thing, but then again, i'm a snob, and am much more into this obscure japanese guy called merzbow, have any of you ever heard of him? you should really try and check his stuff out if you haven't, it might be a bit hard to track down, but it's totally worth the effort... ahem. anyway, i'm sure that's pretty exciting for some of you out there. and in fairness, i was hating on keiji haino until i saw him live, but he totally brought the goods, so more power to him.  whitehouse totally failed to bring the goods however.  we wait with bemused detatchment.  in the meantime, you might like to get a taste for the whole being in a room with hairy americans making noises with things experience by downloading a live set by wolf eyes courtesy of the wire (www.thewire.co.uk) in parts, unfortunately, but get it here

it's also worth remembering that set will be returning to your televisions in early july, which will be not a moment too soon to remind you that you once cared about things other than football games between angola & paraguay.  the previous shows are still available for download, and as i've said before, caning auntie's bandwidth is a good way to let them know that there's a demand & audience for this kinda programing. accomplish this & get more info about set here http://www.abc.net.au/tv/set/

see you all sunday
