Things to do over the coming days around Beislin which won't find developing a sudden attraction to Jabba The Hutt.

Thursday the 30th sees the return of the longstanding BrisNoise suicide squad The Perfect Lovers(!),who are as subtle as the Serbian army in Bosnia, with Incursion 21 at the opening of Datum:Smorgasboard from 6-11PM at Metro Arts,Edward St,free! They will be playing in the large room on the groundfloor with Anal Cookie,Have No Name(bloody hell,I've got amnesia again),No Guru,Hydatid,The Moon Trio,Molliger & OK Teddy. The mixed media exhibition(curated by Victoria McDonell & Kate Foran) with works by the like of Sarah Ashton,Tim woodward,Erena Mercer among numerous others will continue upstairs in Galleries Lvl Two until 3PM on the 31st with artist talks on April the 1st from 11AM.

This Friday night at Fat Louie's,free,sees the return of Bris progressive hardcore band Brain Resin who will be appearing with Turnpike(launching their CD),Eat Laser Scumbag,Newcastle's Conation & Dick Nasty(after his porn career ended all he had left was a punk rock band).

Saturday night at the Ukranian Hall,70 Cordelia St,West End,from 7PM onwards,cost $10/$15(with CD),BYO,all ages is the farewell to Brisbane /launch of new album "Prisoners Of Hormones" show for Toxic Lipstick,whose bad behaviour makes J-Lo seem like Madeline. Also appearing will be Gyanism(Abject Leader/Botborg/Impromptulons/No Guru/ Oil Logic members) skronkers for whom the word tune is something to be followed with washing your mouth out with soap;Justice Yeldham,glass smash extradonaire complete with fx pedals belt for whom 15 minutes would seem like "Gone With The Wind";Anal Cookie,Potato Masta,On Time,Collapsicon,Eat Laser Scumbag,El:Crumple:Dush,The Nightcrash,Drag Party(JACK SMITH:"What did you say?I'll be there with my camera!"),Ponyloaf,Deep Trouble,The Miami Peach,The O.T.C. & Malibu Ben. Phew!

Over at The Alley,Milto Bowl,cost $8, will be Dizzygotheca,The Wretched Villains,Electric Afterglow(how may times have I told you!?!you don't cuddle up to electric eels!), & Imagine Nation with DJ's Tre & Didly Wonker.

Last,but not least that evening Osama Bin Laden's favourite band Afterbath will be appearing at Ahimsa House(26 Horan St,West End),licensed & all ages,cost $10(zed subs)/$12 with Brain Resin,Conation,Lismore's Pig Man Vampire(Porky now has a taste for blood) & The Nightcrash with DJ Carla Me Badd(arrghh,no!it's an early 90's 2 Unlimited flashback!).

PS In the 25/03/06 posting "Brigitte Bardot Pond" I asked "How are Annie Lennox & Franz Kafka connected?".Answer:The Eurthymics took their name from a school of dance developed by occult philosopher(among other things) Rudolf Steiner.Kafka came to see him for an opinion on his writing.Bingo!

This week:From which Belinda Carlisle album do the singles "Leave A Light On","La Luna","Summer Rain" & "(We Want) The Same Thing" come from? And you'd thought you'd seen the last of her.Hah!

(!)Due to guitarist Marek Rygielski being overseas till early May his place is being taken on the evening by Halftheory head honcho & Botborg/Gyanism/ex-pH3 member Scott Sinclair.Can the Brisbane noise scene get any more incestous?Answers on the back of a postcard please...
