india bharti performing at undetermined location

a firm but friendly notice about entertainments soon to be available to discerning citizens of the world, or at least the brisbane part of it.

due to certain brainfart style errors, it appears we have have told you previously stephen vitiello is performing at the judith wright center on thursday.  woops.  FRIDAY. Anyway, this is good news for all concerned, because it means that I'll probably be able to make it, and it'll give you an extra day to digest the recordings of vitiello you can get for free courtesy of ubuweb.  What a nice chap. http://www.ubu.com/sound/vitiello.html usual room 40 bat-time, not sure about supports.  Also your 1st chance to get yourself a copy of lloyd barrett's new cd "mise en scene".  Lloyd says he'll be giving out bonus dvd's to those of you who buy it between now & the official launch, in early july.  Which is when he intends the dvd's to be done, so don't harass him about it on friday. taste it here http://www.room40.org/mp3/RM418.mp3 , then let lloyd jack up the price once you're hooked on friday. that's friday. not thursday. the 9th.

it's also worth noting that well travelled australian busking legend india bharti is also in town, and was seen plying his trade with his homemade string creations, electronics and earthenware pot speaker at wailingly loud volumes from in front of king george square today.  he says he's only just arrived in town, so hopefully he won't find the environment too draconian and will stick around for a while.  one thing brisbane really lacks is good buskers, and bharti's indian influenced trance/ drone is as good as they come. i came across his recorded works in the late 90's, but only saw him perform for the first time while in auckland late last year, and was astonished. it's pretty obvious that that's where he's in his element.  keep your eyes peeled for him on the streets over the next little while, (and be sure to throw the guy a couple of bucks!) or check out his website, with mp3's of some of his work http://www.indiabharti.com/ (where the image comes from, unsurprisingly enough)

alternatively on friday, anonymeye, kahl monticone, cometowherethecarpetstops & redbreast are playing at juggler's cafe from 8pm.

our meat based cognition device has remained unflatulent with regards to our reporting of the opening of the visual art exhibition involving eugene carcheiso.  saturday 10th, 4-7pm, IMA.  Usual art opening tules apply, I imagine.  no news reaches my ears of the deadnotes performing at the opening, but you never know your luck...

sunday 11th, which is a public holiday eve (we luvz you yr maj, happy b'day (observed)) sees a huge fundraiser gig by the ever worthy 4zzzfm (home of audiopollen) line up is too big to fully go into here, but has punk & electronic rooms, with a dub space to serve as a common ground/ barrier between, depending on your levels of cynicism.  should, realistically have something for everyone. from 4pm at the jubilee.... (if you previously thought we said this was saturday, you probably need your eyes checked)
