Faber Castell are the noise improve unit of Ross Manning and Alan Nguyen, using noise-turntables, mixer feedback, home-made instruments and drums. Previous appearances have included the ?Make It Now? and ?What Is Music?? festivals.
Lloyd Barrett (Brisbane)
Lloyd Barrett has been experimenting with sound since the age of 10. His first major public airings were as members of POOTA and DIASPORA. Primarily working with Digital Signal Processing, his current obsession is the creation of immersive aural environments. Robin Fox (Melbourne)
Robin Fox is a Melbourne based performer, composer, researcher and sound artist/designer. His work as an improviser has resulted in two recent CD releases and worldwide performances with Anthony Pateras as part of Synaesthesia records. Sean Baxter (Melbourne)
Sean Baxter, a musician and an academic, teaches cultural theory and aesthetic philosophy at the Victorian College of the Arts. As a performer, he specialises in extreme forms of improvised music and dada performance, sharing time between drum kit, percussive junk and absurdist performance art. Anthea Caddy?s performances explore the subtleties of the cello. Her technique is highly unique and personal, using physical preparations to compromise and complicate the instrument, inducing it to function in a seemingly inefficient and inelegant fashion. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Media Arts at RMIT.

Matthew O?Shannessy?s performances revolve around the amplification and manipulation of the tiny sounds inside his mouth. Previous performances have ranged from harsh bursts of noise and feedback to odd sonic collages involving ?found? tapes, recordings of his house, analogue synthesizers, and a zither.
