Undecisive God
My name is Clinton Green. Undecisive God is my experimental music project from Melbourne, Australia. Through it, I seek to explore the textures of sound and noise mainly generated by guitars, through both conventional and unconventional means. I am interested in creating sound/music that acts as an aural equivilent to abstract art.
Around 1992-93 I started recording my own guitar-based noise and ambient pieces, initially on a walkman and then on a multi-track. I was playing in slightly more conventional bands in the time (punk rock and industrial/gothic music), but had always had an interest in unconventional guitar sound and techniques. The early recordings were essentially guitar workouts ranging from ambient to noise. I have continued to record on and off over the years, with the styles changing subtlely, producing soundscapes of various moods to walls of noise/sound. References would include Sonic Youth?s Sonic Death live cut up/collage LP and The Dead C.'s The Whitehouse LP.
From 1994-2000 I released several tapes of Undecisive God material, as well as featuring on several compilations. Most of my music is now issued on CD, and I am working on a series of CDs featuring remixes of the early cassette material, entitled the "Archive Series".
Recent years have seen me break some of my solitary artistic habits and begin collaborating with other musicians, including Brisbane's Andrew Kettle and Scott Sinclair, Andrew McIntosh in The Unnameable (a dark abstract music tribute to writer H.P. Lovecraft), W.I.T., and Zan Hoffman from the U.S.A.
I am always interested in what other people are doing musically, and am open for trades of my recordings for yours.
