ANTBOY MUSIC is a musician run label currently based between Nantes, France and Melbourne, Australia. So far most of the releases are by Australian artists. The music we present is mostly of an experimental nature. We wish to avoid stereotypes and genre-based music preferring to present music we like, and feel wants to be heard. Antboy cares little about whether this music is: improvised/composed/minimal/maximal/electronic/acoustic etc- all the musicians are highly diverse and individual artists and their recorded out-put is just one example of what they are capable of doing at any given time.
ANTBOY also offers a mailorder service that distributes music mainly by Australian and New Zealand artists, labels, and their associates.

anthony guerra
Anthony Guerra is from Sydney, Australia. He plays the electric guitar and sings.
He used to co-run the label TwoThousandAnd, and now runs the label Black Petal.
He has released over 20 cds, cdrs, records and cassettes, on labels including Last Visible Dog, Foxglove, PseudoArcana, Absurd, CMR, Breakdance the Dawn, A Binary Datum, Impermanent, L'Innomable, Paradisc and Azul Discografica; both solo and with musicians including Joel Stern, Matt Earle, Matthew Nidek, Michael Rodgers and Antony Milton. His band projects include the Green Blossoms, Antipan, Your Intestines, Shining Rice and Needles.
He currently lives in Kawasaki, Japan.

Half/theory represents a loose collective of Australian and New Zealand artists and researchers involved in experimental music, emerging artforms, education, and esoteric research. Half/theory represents some of the many dedicated and unique projects from Australia and New Zealand that would otherwise remain in obscurity. Half/theory was established by artist/webmaster Scott Sinclair in 2003.

For over 35 years, Jon Rose has been at the sharp end of experimental, new and improvised music. Central to that practice has been 'The Relative Violin' project, a unique output, rich in content, realising almost everything on, with, and about the violin - and string music in general. Most celebrated is the worldwide Fence project; least known are the relative violins created specifically for and in Australia. In 1977, he started Australia's first musician run collective for the promotion and recording of improvised music – Fringe Benefit. In the area of interactive electronics, his work is considered exemplary, having pioneered the use of the MIDI bow in the 'Hyperstring' project in the 1980s with the Steim Institute, Amsterdam - and with whom he continues to collaborate. Apart from Europe, considerable interest in Rose's output currently comes from California where he was recently offered the David Tudor Residency at Mills College and completed a concert and lecture tour of all the major UC campuses. Over the years, Rose has made over 30 radiophonic works for the major radio corporations in Europe and the ABC. These focus on the history of music and its re-writing. A more confusing phenomena since 1980 is the violin playing dynasty known as 'The Rosenbergs' - are they a quasi-biographical appendage or surrealist satire? In 2003 he set up the Australia Ad Lib website for the ABC. The management, on discovering an unpaid dissident voice in the institution, immediately closed down its operation. In recent months Jon Rose has given a two-day seminar to the Kronos String Quartet on how to play the fence; performed a completely new and improvised solo part for the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra; created a major radiophonic work for the BBC on the history of the piano in 19th century Australia; toured in Europe with his current improvisation group 'Futch'; premiered his interactive Ball project at The Melbourne Festival; and been apprehended by the Israeli Defence Forces at the Separation Fence near Ramallah in the occupied territories. Most recently he gave the Peggy Glanville-Hicks address - "Listening to history: some proposals for reclaiming the practice of music."
